Trading and order systems

Optimum developed and delivered presentations to grouped audiences of Traders and Research Analysts on this in-house developed trading and ordering system. The trading and order analysing tool was introduced as a trading system which showed trading flows. Traders are able to see research calls and the relation to trading activity in the market, together with information such as client details, filled/unfilled orders and open/close positions. Analysts were able to see how accurate their recommendations were based on trading volumes.

Research workflow tool

Optimum delivered classroom and presentation sessions in multiple offices including Hong Kong, New York and London, with Webex being used to deliver virtual training sessions to European audiences. The subject was a global web-based application that enabled Analyst teams to create new research documents and track their status in the workflow. This tool was aso used by Editors, Supervisory Analysts and DTP to view, edit and promote these documents in the workflow process. The sessions addressed the start-to-finish process for all types of research material including reports, bulletins and notes, and inluded how specific templates were to be used when producing each research type. The workflow and the checking out/in process was explained along with the authorisation/sign-off processes.

Roadshow Calendar

Optimum delivered classroom training in the use of this bank's bespoke roadshow calendar tool. It addressed the process for creating, monitoring and editing roadshow events. It also showed users the Web component which was used by Sales and Trading teams to book event attendance for the roadshows. Sessions were delivered in New York and London.

Disaster recovery programme

Optimum ran classroom sessions in European cities including Munich, Frankfurt and London on this disaster recovery tool. It showed the users how to build/structure their disaster recovery plans including identifying dependencies across departments, incorporating recovery site addresses and contact information.

Online procurement

Optimum ran classroom/presentation sessions in the use of this tailored online procurement tool. The courses were driven by typical scenarios whereby the candidate would take on the role of both requisitioner and approver to understand the full workflow. The courses also addressed ordering items such as non-catalogue products. The development of this training programme was done in association with the developers/business specialists in New York and the training environment was managed from New York for the sessions delivered in London.

Cash accounting

Optimum delivered half-day induction sessions on the use of this bank's accounting system with specific focus on cash transactions and the position of private clients. The delegate audience normally consisted of client advisors and portfolio managers. The system could be used for transaction input, updates and enquiries.

System: BAS (Branch Accounting System)

Bespoke Client position tool

Optimum delivered both classroom and Webex sessions in the use of this query tool primarily used by front office staff. It was a user interface which allowed the user to inspect/view client accounts information. This windows-based application could show all transactions (cash and securities), and was used by all desks including Americas, Italian, Eastern Europe, Domestic (UK).

Optimum developed short and concise coaching sessions for users of this video conferencing system which enabled traders and analysts to conference with colleagues in any office worldwide.
