Who is the course for?
This course is designed for new users who wish to create and/or maintain new or existing web sites. The course provides in-depth, hands-on training enabling users to experience the power of this exciting program. No previous experience of this or similar products is required, however, new users should be familiar with PC or Mac operating system.
Pre-requisites
You need to have basic Windows skills, including opening and saving, copying and moving information, and working with a keyboard and mouse.
What does the course cover?
Introducing Dreamweaver Getting started with Dreamweaver; the Dreamweaver workspace; working with panels, the properties inspector and insert bar; the document window
Setting up your site and pages Creating a new site; opening an existing site; planning your pages; adding and importing text; importing and positioning images; image formats; saving a web page – naming and title conventions
Formatting text Applying HTML formatting; formatting using CSS
Using tables Creating and modifying a table; adding content to cells; formatting tables and cells; merging and splitting cells
Hyperlinks Creating relative links between pages; creating absolute links to other sites; creating mailto links and links to other non-HTML files; adding named anchor links to long pages; checking links
Site maintenance and publishing Deleting, moving, copying and renaming files; creating folders; checking links and orphan files; publishing your site to a server
